Low Warranty Returns

Goal
The number of warranty returns per year will be less than 0.5% (half of one percent) of the number of products sold in the same year. The typical warranty issue becomes evident to the customer in the first few months of product use.

Results
As of November 2009, warranty returns total 0.04% of product sales for 2009. That’s four one-hundredths of one percent!

Utilization of Recycled Material, as a Percentage of Sales

Goal
Big Shrimpy has always tracked how much recycled material it uses in its products as a percentage of sales. In Big Shrimpy’s early days, our goal was that products using more than 50% recycled materials would contribute over 70% of annual product sales revenue.

As of 2009, Big Shrimpy’s goal is that products using more than 50% recycled materials will contribute over 90% of annual product revenue.

Results
As you can see below, since 2002, products using more than 50% recycled materials have always exceeded 86% of annual product revenue. Since 2007, it has exceeded 99%.

2002: products exceeding 50% recycled materials contributed 86% of product revenue.
2003: products exceeding 50% recycled materials contributed 93% of product revenue.
2004: products exceeding 50% recycled materials contributed 96% of product revenue.
2005: products exceeding 50% recycled materials contributed 97% of product revenue.
2006: products exceeding 50% recycled materials contributed 96% of product revenue.
2007: products exceeding 50% recycled materials contributed 99% of product revenue.
2008: products exceeding 50% recycled materials contributed 99.8% of product revenue.

Recycling Beds Via Big Shrimpy’s FullCircle™ Recycling Program

This is a brand-new program for us, initiated in the summer of 2009. We don’t have enough data to set a challenging goal for ourselves yet. We expect to recycle old or damaged covers far more often than entire beds.

Our eventual goal will probably be to recycle a percentage of the number of replacement parts sold in the same year. Right now, our goal is to let as many customers possible know that their Big Shrimpy bed is recyclable!
